Prepayment meters

Are you struggling to pay your monthly bill or worried about the increasing cost of energy? Consider switching to a prepayment meter.

Prepayment meters are a great way to manage your energy consumption, since you need to top up your meter before you use any energy, much like a pay-as-you-go phone deal. This helps you avoid running up large energy bills and getting into debt with your supplier. If you’re already in debt, it can also be a great way to pay back your balance over time. Huddle can install smart prepayment meters free of charge. You can top up your meters via our online portal.

Home energy saving tips

Wondering what you can do at home to reduce your energy bills? We have plenty of easy energy-saving behaviours that you can follow to keep your consumption down and still live comfortably at home.

A full guide can be found here but the most important things that we recommend are turning down your thermostat by 1° or 2°, or keeping it below 21°. Setting a timer for the heating for a few hours in the mornings and evenings, and turning it off throughout the day is a good practice, and wearing extra layers during this time is highly recommended!

Most importantly, avoid using electric fan heaters over the central heating! It will cost you more in the long term. These devices are very inefficient at heating your home and will increase your electric bill substantially.
